Healthcare has moved rapid strides in India that has led to healthcare system transformation. The private sector experienced unprecedented growth during the last decade that also offers remarkable opportunity to aspiring healthcare managers and administrators. Hospital chains have emerged as standalone corporate entities that also provide diagnostic and health insurance services.
Modern hospitals today here have not only become technologically sophisticated but also very large and complex business entities. The challenges of management of these complex entities with intricate inter-linkages between businesses processes and medical procedures have resulted in creation of this specialized field of Management Study, termed Health Care Management. The graduating students are absorbed by large private hospitals and even public healthcare organization as Management Trainees. Post such training these students go on to play managerial roles in various functions of a hospital, such as marketing, HR, Administration and Operations Management.
Scope : A Masters in Health Care Management would mean that a candidate can take on the mantle of a Hospital Administrator/ Manager/ Executive in any set up like Private, Non Profit, Government, Corporate, Third Party administrators, Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipments Companies or even the health insurance sector. It prepares the individuals to take on leadership roles by equipping them with training in planning, project & operational management, financial, material and human resource management.
